Balkan Region Relations Development Platform This platform was established in 2012 in Istanbul by businessman Yılmaz Gozcu, with the participation of representatives from 12 Balkan countries. It is an innovative collaboration platform that organizes cinema forums, co-productions, casting forums, creative projects, and trade events across the Balkan countries, aiming to bring together professionals from the industry.

In collaboration with Cast Film Forum and Sofia Meetings: CO-PRODUCING WITH THE BALKANS The session, held in Sofia, brought together leading industry professionals from across the region. Participants included Georgos Karnavas (Producer, Greece), Aleksandra Božović (Film Centre of Montenegro), Athena Kartalou (Greek Film Centre, Creative Greece – Audiovisual Media & Creativity), Blerta Zeqiri (Kosovo Cinematography Center), Ilinka Teodorescu (Romanian Film Centre), Peter Todorov (Bulgarian National Film Center), and Vladimir Anastasov (Producer, North Macedonia). The panel also featured presentations from Turkish production companies such as Karma Films, O3 Media, Yerli Films, 3mm Studio Services, and Jaguar Project. This session provided an important opportunity to explore the unique advantages of co-producing in the Balkans, with valuable insights on financing, collaboration, and the region’s vibrant creative landscape.

BALKAN FILM STARS MET FOR NEW HORIZONS IN ISTANBUL The CAST FILM FORUM was held on Tuesday, June 17, in Istanbul with great interest and participation. The event became an important platform for actors who wish to develop their careers on the international stage. One of the most exciting moments of the forum was the presentation of the international film production “Prince Marko.” Thanks to the professional portfolio photo sessions organized by the platform first in Bulgaria and later in Turkey, Turkish actors had the opportunity to take part in upcoming international projects.

BULGARIAN FILM STARS MET FOR NEW HORIZONS The CAST FILM FORUM took place on May 17 (Saturday evening) in Sofia, at Zoki Warehouse, attracting great interest and participation. The event became an important platform for actors aiming to develop their careers on the international stage. Presentations by producers from Bulgaria and Turkey inspired participants and laid the foundation for new collaborations and future projects. One of the most exciting moments of the evening was the presentation of the international film production *Prince Marko*. Thanks to the professional portfolio photo sessions organized by the platform, actors had the opportunity to take part in this international project, which will be filmed between Turkey and Bulgaria.

On Friday, March 21, the THINK TANK BALKANS: Co-Productions and Distribution event was held at the Grand Hotel Sofia in Bulgaria The event was organized in collaboration between Sofia Meetings Coordinator Mira Staleva and Founder of the Balkan Regional Relations Development Platform, Yılmaz Gözcü, and was made possible with the support of Cemal Kara, Board Member of the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Representative of the World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) in Bulgaria. During the program, leading production companies from Turkey presented their projects to an international audience. The session was moderated by actress and model Elena Vesileva. Cast Film Forum – New Horizons for the Bulgarian Film Industry The Cast Film Forum was held with the participation of a large group of professional Bulgarian actors, aiming to open new doors for involvement in international film productions. The event took place on March 29, 2024 in Sofia. Five of the participants – Sofia Marinkova, Elena Vassileva, Kristi Kirilova, Elitsa Mateva, and Petyo Tsekov – have already been selected to take part in the major project Overseas XP, which begins filming in Turkey on April 3. The forum, organized by Yılmaz Gözcü, founder of the Balkan Region Relations Development Platform, will continue to bring together prominent figures from the film world and connect them with Bulgarian actors. The goal is to develop new partnerships for international productions and to showcase Bulgarian talent on the global cinema stage. Notable actors such as Niki Stanoev, Dayana Handjieva, Ivaylo Zahariev, and director Georgi Kostov also took part as co-organizers.

The Balkan Film Forum was held in Sofia. Presentations by renowned Turkish and Bulgarian production companies attracted significant attention from other industry participants. The event brought together prominent names from the film world, laying the groundwork for future collaborations. The next edition of the forum will take place on June 4. Three additional Balkan countries will join the event, which will be held in the magical atmosphere of Istanbul's historic peninsula, featuring Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Participants included famous actors such as Niki Stanev, Ivaylo Zaharieva, Snezhana Makaveeva, Dayana Handjieva, Yulian Kostov, Alexander Sano, Sofia Marinkova, and Yulian Rachkov. Among the directors were Georgi Kostov, Todor Chapkanov, and Nikolay Pavlov, while producers such as Nikola Nikolov, Alexander Peychev, Elena Markov, and Iskren Konstantinov also took part.
